Project consisted of the construction of 1,000 feet of two-lane access road with cul-de-sac adjacent to the Wise County Justice Center, intersecting airport road just east of UVA at Wise. Construction of the access road was the first phase of the future development of the Bear Creek Business Park, which is currently home to. Included in the improvement package was the construction of 1,000 feet of paved two-lane road, installation of storm drain facilities, and installation of water and sewer infrastructure to serve and encourage future development. Due to poor existing soils and the presence of excessive water, personnel from Glass Machinery worked with geotechnical engineers to develop the best solution to mitigate soft soil conditions and improve the sub-grade to a desirable state thus increasing the life of the road by decades. Sub-base aggregate, asphalt paving, striping, and concrete curb and guttering were installed as part of this improvement package.
