Route 23 Southbound Lanes Relocation and Crossover Construction

Construction and relocation of 0.5 miles of both southbound lanes of U.S. Route 23 near Pound, Virginia. Approximately 80,000 cubic yards of excavation performed, including drilling and blasting and mining of coal incidentally encountered within the state right-of-way.  The project scope also included installation of 8” water main, storm drainage structures, concrete lined ditch, guardrail and paving.  The successful completion of the project allowed traffic to safely turn into JW Adams elementary school from the southbound lanes of U.S. 23.
